I have to admit that it was a bit scary at first but then as it progressed it got less and less scary and I quite enjoyed it.
The big week came and I was so ready to act that during French class I couldn't concentrate very well and when I came home I would use my spare time to rehearse in the backyard. The day before the play we went to Avon to see the stage, see the props, put on our outfits and rehearse again with everything. It was much more easy than doing it in English class!
At the beginning I felt all right and not nervous at all; but when it came up to my chapter I started to get nervous. I felt my legs shiver when the curtains opened. But the moment I was on stage I had so much fun.
I'd like to start all the play again every day…
Drama lessons have always been my next favorite subject because I like acting and being someone else.
At first I felt guilty and stupid but when I got off I really wanted to get back on, but I couldn't because it wasn't my turn. I really enjoyed playing in front of people on a real stage.
I know that next year we will be acting but not with you (Mrs. Waddington), and we won't have Mrs. Vercoutre to help me sing. I just wish I could stay in this acting class forever.
I love theatre. In fact, I liked it so much that, while Mrs. Kennedy and you (Mrs. Waddington) were speaking at the end of the evening performance, I just cried with joy. I was just so happy. Theatre is just exactly what you need in school.
Friday night, at the end, I was filled with joy because of the play, but filled with sorrow because it was over. We had practiced a whole year and now, in one night, it was all over.
When everyone clapped for us I was really proud. I didn't think that I could talk that loud and I was amazed because I'm always really shy.
I was very happy that Mrs. Waddington organised this play and I thank her very much.
We laughed, had fun, and we had a wonderful time together. Are you sure that you (Mrs. Waddington) can not be our drama teacher next year?
